Information about Pharaoh Hound, 'Omorose Bahira Sun over Abusir' (Mena)

This page is dedicated to our lovely girl Mena, registered name Omorose Bahira Sun over Abusir. Having decided to concentrate on just one breed, she is the only one of our dogs we plan to campaign at UK Championship shows and this page details her progress. She was bred by Val Jones of Omorose pharaohs, her dam being Vals Ezhar Emblematic (Isis) and her sire being Barabs Bronze Bucephalus (Zinzan) bred and owned by Barbara Brooker of Barab Pharaohs, see below for photographs

Menas show career to date has shown steady progress.  Living on the Isle of Man and the logistics of travelling to the UK means we cannot attend the number of  shows that we would like to. Despite this in 2007 she was awarded:-

Best puppy in Breed at Hound Of Scotland

Best Puppy in Breed at Scottish Kennel Club

Best Puppy in Breed at Blackpool

Special Beginners Bitch at the Pharaoh Hound Show

Third Best in show at The Royal Manx Agricultural Society

So far in 2008, Mena has been awarded

Best Opposite Sex at Hound of Scotland

Reserve Best Bitch and Reserve CC at WELKS

Best in Show at the Royal Manx Agricultural Society Open Show! From an entry of 201 dogs, Mr Bill Gray picked Mena as his best in show - thank you so much. Gipsy was also in the final line up having won her class too!

After winning the reserve CC there last year, this year Mena was awarded the single

 CC and Best of Breed at WELKS!
