Handcrafted by Sarah Card details and FAQs, sizes, printing and postage charges

Dog and Greetings cards - What's included? What's extra?

With handmade cards, the whole idea is that you, the customer, gets an item that is unique, special and designed for the particular person or occasion you have in mind.

This means that the variables are almost endless, so here I will try to explain what is included in every card as standard, what can be added to any card to make it even more special and the costs of getting the cards to you. If there is anything that I have failed to cover, but that you would like to know about, please ask me via the contact page and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Card sizes

Cards are available in a number of sizes, including but not exclusively:-

A6 (105x148cm), DL (105x210), square (135x135cm) and A5 (148x210cm)

The first two of these are counted as standard sizes and prices for them start at £2.50. If you have a preference,  you can let me know or leave it to me to see which shape suits your design best. These cards include either a plain white insert on which you can write your message and a matching envelope or the inside can be printed with your message at NO extra charge

A5 cards are counted as a large size card and prices for them start at £4.00. This also includes either a plain white insert for you to write on or one printed with your message. All A5 cards come with a matching envelope.

Handmade patterned envelopes can be added to any of my cards at a small extra charge if you would prefer them. They do make a card look even more special, even before it is opened

Have a favourite photograph added to a card

If you would like to have a card made that features a photo that will particularly appeal to its recipient, then this can be used at no extra charge. Please just make sure that you have permission to use the picture. The picture can be of anything you like; members of the family, a new baby; a favourite pet or a showdog. E-mail the photo through to me and I can check if it is going to be suitable in size and quality. Digital photos are usually ideal, but I have made some lovely cards from scanning old photographs too. These make great cards for occasions such as  golden anniversaries by the way and I know of a few that the recipients have kept and framed.

Personalisation

All cards can be personalised with as many or as few details as you wish. I do not charge extra for printing the insert with your message, and you can have a message added to the front of the card if you wish

Printing - Now offered as a FREE service

If you would like the insert of your card to be printed, you can choose the wording, colour of ink and font you would like to be used or leave it to me to decide what looks best. The size of the font will depend on the size of card and amount of words you have chosen.

For the really professional touch, choose fully printed inserts that include the name of the recipient, a verse or message of your choice and your name/s if you do not wish to sign it yourself and a printed label to the envelope.  If you opt for this, I can send the card direct to your intended recipient instead of you if you would like. This way will save you one lot of postage! Please contact me for further details of this option.

All cards come with a blank white insert as standard that can be hand endorsed with your own message. This is what your card will contain if you do not request any printed message

Making sure you like your card!

I want you to be happy with your card. So if you have ordered something special to be made for you and want to be sure you like it, I can email you a picture of the card before I post it out to you. If you like it, then you buy it! If not, then there is no obligation to purchase it.

Payment

 Payment methods I accept are:-

Cash

Paypal

Personal cheques for orders over £10.00. I do wait until they clear before posting out the item/s.

Postage charges

All cards can be posted out to you and I try to keep postage charges as low as I can whilst ensuring that cards are packed as well as possible so that they reach you in perfect condition.

All cards and their envelopes are sealed inside a cellophane wrapper, then packed inside a board sided envelope to ensure that they stay as flat as possible. They will be marked 'fragile' and 'do not bend'. The costs of sending a card to an address in the UK is £1.00 extra on top of the card itself to cover p&p charges. If you purchase more than one card, I will try to reduce this cost depending on the final size and weight of your order. Recorded delivery can be added at the cost of £0.70 per package if you would like signed for delivery.

If you purchase more than one card, please contact me for combined postage charges before paying. If you spend £25 or more on greetings cards (not including the postage charges), your purchases will be posted free.

If you are outside the UK, then I am still more than happy to post cards out to you. Please contact me to get postage costs for your region.

If you attend UK Championship Dog shows then I might be able to hand deliver your order! Contact me to see what shows we have in common and I'd be happy to save you the postage charges!
